Each stage of the 2018 Rhodes Dryland Traverse is unique. Trail runners get to encounter a diversity of scenes from the natural splendour of the Cango Caves, majestic summit of the Swartberg Mountain, breathtaking views of the Raubenheimer Dam, to the isolated beauty of De Hoek.

Highlight for many is the theme party aptly labelled stage 2.5 that allows runners to let off some steam and soak in the Karoo hospitality and fresh air. This stage can’t be won but it can be lost, the theme this year was heroes and villains
